1. A new podcast I started about movies and television shows I watch on netflix and other places. Shooting for daily, as of day two right on target!

  2. My thoughts on last night’s episode of Survivor!

  3. Around every corner lurks someone whining about how television is so terrible these days. I think they’re wrong: http://jkire.com/?p=1025

  4. My ranking of this week’s network sitcoms!

The development of Robert California on the Office makes me want to believe he is actually Alan Shore, who is also a false identity of James Spaders’ character in Bad Influence.

And Parks and Recreation was brilliant as always.

  5. Some quick TV thoughts…

Caught up a bit on all the new shows last night…

Person of Interest. Love it. I can’t even think of anything I don’t like about it… Haven’t watched episode 2 yet, but have heard it’s just as good/better than the first.

Up All Night. I’ve only watched the first episode of the three aired… I really enjoy the parts that Maya Rudolph isn’t in. To be fair, all three leads are pretty much the same character in everything they’re in, I just enjoy Christina and Will, whereas I do not enjoy Maya.

2 Broke Girls. I wasn’t expecting it to be very good, but I like it. Not one of my favorite sitcoms, but I’ll keep watching. I didn’t realize this show was also created by Whitney Cummings, and I’m still deciding which one I like better (vs. Whitney).

Suburgatory. Pretty good, I’m looking forward to see how it develops. I love Cheryl Hines and Jeremy Sisto is solid. The show reminds me a little bit of Mean Girls. That’s probably a good thing.

I tried watching Pan Am and Prime Suspect but couldn’t get into either. They seem very well made, and I’m sure people will enjoy both, they’re just not for me.

  6. My picks for this round:

Community - Best sitcom on television. I stopped watching 30 Rock shortly after the Kabletown storyline started last season (ish?) because it felt like more of the same old same old every week. I far prefer Community silliness over 30 Rock silliness.

Simpsons - Haven’t watched much this season, but there are more episodes of the Simpsons that I love than there are of Family Guy. So there.

True Blood - Haven’t seen season 3 yet, but Vampire Diaries? No thank you.

Parks and Recreation - The Office is losing steam, and Parks and Rec is gaining it. Also, Ron Swanson is my hero.

Fringe  - Do I even have to explain this one? Fringe is the best show on television today.

Chuck - Tough one, I haven’t watched Chuck at all this season, but overall it has higher production value, there’s twice as much of it per season since the episodes are twice as long, there’s no laugh track, plus there are often explosions.

Modern Family - Consistently great. I like Cougar Town, but it’s kind of the same formula each week (new catch phrase/running joke/friend game/friend rule)

Archer - I avoid Always Sunny like the plague, but even if I didn’t Archer is the best cartoon currently on television.

House - I don’t want to be friends with anyone that wouldn’t pick House in this round :-P

Breaking Bad - Haven’t seen Sons of Anarchy yet, but Breaking Bad is one of those shows that makes me thankful that television and Bryan Cranston exist.

Boardwalk Empire - I haven’t watched all of season one yet, but what I have seen is some of the best made TV ever.

Justified - Of course I’m going to pick Justified. Best new show of 2010, among the best returning shows of 2011.

    Glee - I don’t actually like it, but it’s better than FNL I think? Meh they’re both… bleh…

Dexter - tough matchup, Walking Dead is just as awesome… but 6 episodes vs 4 seasons… Dexter wins for it’s longer legacy of badass.

Parenthood - I haven’t watched this season at all, so I don’t know if it’s still any good… but I don’t fine The Good Wife appealing at all.

Louie - hilarious, Louie is a genius, and season one is available to watch on Netflix instant watch! I love HIMYM, but like Cougar Town, it’s kind of the same sort of formula each week (though they do get pretty creative with storytelling techniques at times)

And while you’re there at Hulu, watch and rate a few episodes of Fringe, eh?

  10. #LOST - The End - Review and “The Ending for Dummies”

This review is primarily a retort to the haters who just didn’t understand the ending because they’re… stupid. I posted this over on tv.com:

A perfect ending for the closest to perfect television series that has ever been made. (contains spoilers)
